New timber windows in the East Midlands

As our latest post in this series, today we will be taking a look at our showrooms located in the East Midlands region of the country. This large area spans the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire (excluding North and North East Lincolnshire), Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire as well as the ceremonial county of Rutland. At present we have 5 showrooms in the region, while parts of Northamptonshire are covered by our showrooms in Olney, and St Albans.
As before, it is worth noting that this post is correct at the time of writing, and so when you read this, whenever that may be, it may be that we have opened an additional showroom(s) in one or more of these areas. So please do visit our showrooms page, where we list every location, and you can find the most convenient for yourself.
Leicestershire – Market Harborough
In our previous post of this nature, we covered our showrooms in the West Midlands and concluded at our showroom in Harborne, Birmingham. With that in mind, we will move East from Birmingham into the county of Leicestershire, to our first stop in this post, in the appropriately named, market town of Market Harborough. Sitting close to the county border with Northamptonshire, Market Harborough is a town steeped in history, that is very proud of its roots.
The town’s historic farmers market has been running every first Thursday of the month for the past 800 years! Market Harborough was voted as the best place to live in, in Leicestershire in 2022 and in 2023 was voted by The Sunday Times as one of the best places to live in the country. Its history, combined with its strong focus towards independent businesses and a vibrant shopping scene, make Market Harborough a wonderful town to both visit and live in.
In the centre of town, near the war memorial, you can find our showroom on Northampton Road, neighbouring local bakers, Emerson and Wests and Steffans Preier Jewellers. You can find the full details for the showroom here. Our showroom in Market Harborough allows us to service the entire Leicestershire County, so if you live in the town, or even in Leicester or Melton Mowbray and are thinking of new windows and doors, contact them today.

Lincolnshire – Stamford
Moving into South Lincolnshire, our second showroom in the region is in the quaint market town of Stamford. As with Market Harborough, Stamford is seen as one of the best places in the UK to live, with The Sunday Times even going as far as to declare it ‘Britain’s top place to live’. Stamford is known for its beautiful, authentic stone architecture with Roman architecture and history. Its beautiful architecture led toStamford being named as England’s first Conservation Area in 1967.
Understandably as a result of this, Stamford is bustling with numerous, beautiful, older buildings, many of which are protected by a Listed Status (over 600 in fact). Combined with beautiful timber buildings, and five mediaeval churches, Stamford is a must see if you want a look into England of old.
Off Wharf Road in Stamford, you can find our showroom on Belton Street next door to Project One Cars. An extensive selection of our timber windows and doors range are on display here, including a specialist casement from our Listed Buildings Range, ideal for the numerous Listed buildings in Stamford. The showroom also serves the wider, local area, including Peterborough, Oakham and Spalding. You can find their full details here.

Lincolnshire – Lincoln
Moving further north into Lincolnshire, our second showroom in the county is on the outskirts of the County town, Lincoln. For those who have visited the city before, no doubt you will have taken note of its very impressive cathedral. Did you know that for over 200 years, this was the tallest man-made structure in the world? Eclipsing the Great Pyramid of Giza that held that record before, the cathedral held the record from 1311 until 1549 (when its spire collapsed and allowed St Mary’s Church in Stralsund, Germany to snatch the record). Had the spire not collapsed, the cathedral would have held the record until the completion of the Ulm Minster, Germany in 1890.
Just a short, 4 minute walk from the Cathedral, is Lincoln Castle. One of the most well-preserved castles in the entire country, it was built by William the Conqueror following victory at the Battle of Hastings and today is home to one of only four, original copies of the Magna Carta, from 1215. If you are a history lover therefore, Lincoln is a must see if you are passing by.
In the nearby village of Caythorpe, South of the city, you can find our showroom on Elms Farm, a lovely rural business park, shared with Elms Farm Riding Academy. Our beautiful showroom here is housed within a large, converted barn. Head upstairs upon entry, where a large selection of our timber windows and doors are on display. The team at our Lincoln showroom also manage our showrooms in both Stamford and Market Harborough listed above. Having worked across the local area for decades, if you live in Lincolnshire, Leicestershire or Rutland, our expert, experienced team are well placed to help with your home renovation. More details for our Lincoln showroom can be found here.

Nottinghamshire – Nottingham
Travelling West into the historic county of Nottinghamshire, our local showroom for the county is situated within the desirable suburb of Nottingham, West Bridgford. This beautiful part of the city is home to famous sporting landmarks, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, and The City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest Football Club. The River Trent runs through the city, splitting local football rivals Nottingham Forest and Notts County, by less than a mile as the crow flies, with Trent Bridge, providing access between both parts of the city.
Located in very close proximity to both Trent Bridge and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, our showroom in West Bridgford can be found on Radcliffe Road, at the junction to London Road, and opposite The Trent Bridge Inn, a very popular spot for cricket enthusiasts. The showroom is located within a former bank building. The original bank vaults are still in the cellar of the showroom, and there is even a glass floor section, where you can see this small piece of local history for yourself while browsing new windows and doors for your home. You can find their full details here.

Derbyshire – Ripley
Our final showroom within the East Midlands can be found in the beautiful county of Derbyshire, within the town of Ripley. The town, with possible Roman origins was transformed during the Industrial Revolution of the 1760s, where its natural resources were key to both the Iron and Coal industries, through The Butterley Works and Butterley Company. The changing nature of industry and the country led to the closure of the Butterley Company in 2009, though its legacy can still be found across Ripley.
In the Northern part of town, on the corner of Nottingham Road and Argyll Road, you can find our showroom in a converted, former Church building, originally built in 1892. The team at Ripley, also manage our showroom in West Bridgford (a converted, former bank), so you can see the team there have a fondness for restoring and preserving historic buildings.
