New timber windows in Wales

Our latest post in this series, today we will take a closer look at the 3 showrooms we have at present, in the beautiful country of Wales.
Among a few, but by no means limited to, Wales is synonymous for its idyllic, beautiful landscapes (including its highest peak, Mount Snowdon within the Snowdonia National Park), passion for Rugby (its national sport), and for being the home of more castles per square mile, than anywhere else in Europe. It is a popular tourist destination both domestically, and internationally, with many Brits seeking Wales for a week/weekend away, and its stunning setting providing worldwide appeal.
While at present, we only have 3 showroom locations within Wales, the Timber Windows service does extend to the entire country, and on Wales’ eastern border for example, our showrooms in Hereford and Shrewsbury (which we will cover in greater detail in a further post) service some of these areas.
As before, it is worth noting that this post is correct at the time of writing, and so when you read this, whenever that may be, it may be that we have opened an additional showroom(s) in one or more of these areas. So please do visit our showrooms page, where we list every location, and you can find the most convenient for yourself.
Glamorgan – Cardiff
The first stop on the tour of our Welsh showrooms, naturally, belongs in the Nation’s capital city (and the UKs 11th largest city for that matter), Cardiff. It is situated on the Southeast Welsh coast, in the historic county of Glamorgan in between fellow popular tourist cities, Swansea and Newport.
As the capital of Wales, the city is famous for a variety of industries, landmarks and popular destinations. Its location on the coast gave rise to an impressive port and harbour, which historically made Cardiff a major Coal exporter. While shifting away from coal in recent decades, the port moves roughly 1.8 million tonnes of cargo annually, making it a key and crucial part of both Cardiff’s, and Wales’s economy.
It is home to many famous landmarks, including Cardiff Castle (with Roman origins), the Principality stadium (Wales’s national stadium and home to the Welsh Rugby team), and the Wales Millenium Centre; a home to the arts, media and musical industries. National icons Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey have performed at the venue numerous times across the years, and the location has been used as a filming location for shows such as Doctor Who, Gavin & Stacey and Torchwood.
In the Eastern district of Cardiff, in the suburb of Rumney, you can find our showroom on Capital Business Park. An extensive selection of our timber windows and doors are on display (as well as some timber alternative products) in a beautiful, modern showroom setting. The showroom is next door to Major Brushes Ltd, and opposite PA Promotions, with ample, free parking for visitors. You can find the full address and their information here.

Llandysul – Ceredigion
Moving west into the county of Ceredigion, our second Timber Windows showroom in Wales can be found in the quiet, picturesque town of Llandysul. Sitting on the banks of the River Teifi, Llandysul and the surrounding valley areas was once home to the Welsh Woollen industries, with multiple woollen mills built throughout the 19th century. While the industry has adapted and evolved since this time, with these historic mill structures now being used for a multitude of different purposes.
The town is still home to The Gomer Press (Gwasg Gomer in Welsh), a thriving printing company and the largest publishing house in Wales. The business began as a book shop, within a grocery store, and to this day is still being ran by the great grandson of the founder, John David Lewis.
Due to the town’s location near Pembrokeshire and the idyllic Pembrokeshire coastline, the town can often be a stopping point, or drive through location by tourists seeking Wales’s beautiful beaches and view out to the Irish Sea.
You can find our showroom in the centre of town, on Wind Street, just down from the charming Buon Appetito café and Angela Sadler Florist. Their full details can be found here.

Denbigh – Denbighshire
Our final showroom in Wales sits near its northern coastline, in the market town of Denbigh. Its Welsh name, Dinbych, translates as ‘Little Fortress’, a reference to the ancient Denbigh castle that was built in the 1200s, which the town was later built around. The town played a significant role during the 13th and following centuries, and was the site of multiple battles during the reign of Edward I, and later, during the War of the Roses in the 15th century. Its castle ruins, mediaeval walls and historic architecture can still be found today and proudly display the history of this lovely town.
Nowadays in Denbigh, besides its bustling market, the town is host to an annual barrel rolling competition, that since 1958 has run on Boxing Day, delighting locals and tourists alike. The town was also home to British actress, Shedali Chowdhury (who played Parvati Patil in the Harry Potter film series) and Mark Webster (former BDO World Darts Champion). It is also reported that Beatrix Potter spent multiple Summers in the town at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.
You can find our showroom in the centre of town on the corner of Vale Road and Ruthin Road, opposite the charming pub and restaurant, ‘The Railway’. Their details and opening times can be found here.
