Flush Casement Windows and Sash Windows
Dream home in need of new windows
Built in the 1700s, Mrs Devine’s home in West Yorkshire is full of English heritage. Formerly accommodation for workers at a nearby farm, the row of cottages were all converted to private residences when she moved in 20 years ago.
“I actually used to live in one of the cottages just down the road, but I wanted to buy this one as it was larger. I love the area as well, so it was perfect for me”.
“Unfortunately, the original sash windows at the front of the cottage just didn’t work. They had been repainted many times and it was time for them to go”
Mrs Devine comments.
Timber Windows on your doorstep
After seeing Timber Windows advertised in a local publication, Mrs Devine visited her local showroom at the Harewood House Estate.
“I can actually see Harewood House from my home, so I couldn’t have asked for a more local showroom”.
Respecting the home’s heritage, replacement sash windows and flush casement windows closely matching the originals were installed throughout. A fixed flush casement with leaded light detailing at the rear of the property has been a beautiful addition.
“I wanted to keep the character of the home, so Timber Windows were able to closely match the original style which is great”.
“It’s lovely to be able to open the windows again and get fresh air into the house, plus it’s nice to be able to do a bit of bird watching again”
