Renovating a London Victorian townhouse

Owner of this traditional Victorian townhouse in Southwest London, homeowner, Mr Sturgeon has recently undertaken an 18-month self-renovation project, to put his stamp on the property near Clapham Common, while bringing its energy performance up to today’s standards.

“Originally the house had very old, single glazed windows. They were very large, and let a lot of the heat out, and a lot of the noise in! We were desperate to get rid of them.”

Sash Windows in London

In line with the architecture and history of the property, Mr Sturgeon specified traditional, Victorian sash windows for the property, a feature and design choice that can be seen on many homes across London.

The fully glazed windows are finished in the timeless shade of ‘White’, with decorative sash horns, manufactured in Engineered European Redwood.

“Both the noise and thermal insulation has greatly improved!”

Mr Sturgeon comments.

“The new sash windows are fantastic, they were a treat to ourselves!”
