Timber Sash Windows, Entrance Doors and French Doors
“Our reaction was ‘WOW!’ We had neighbours coming to tell us how wonderful the house looked and had become a feature for those passing through the village. Inside, rooms took on an amazing lightness and air of tranquillity that we just hadn’t anticipated, and the double glazing is really proving its worth through the winter as the house is clearly warmer.”

Replacing old, dark windows to inject more light
“When we bought the house in 2006, the dark windows blended with the décor of the house and externally the house was blocked by a large tree; once removed it provided more light and the house took on a whole new appearance particularly from kerbside; its appearance didn’t reflect the joy we felt for our home” Mrs Marsden reflects.
“Windows are the eyes of the house, through which you see the world…we wanted to reflect more of the lightness, joy and glow we felt from living here in its appearance.”
Quality, Choice and Elegance
“We investigated lighter colour windows and deemed it essential to replace with timber to reflect the elegance the property deserved. Having seen local advertising for Timber Windows at Harewood we took a trip to see them, and were immediately impressed by the product quality.”
The Marsden’s cottage required sash windows in various sizes and styles, so the couple were instantly drawn to the sashes on display in the showroom, “we were impressed with how the sash windows worked and could recognise the improvements in the quality of the double glazing compared to our existing ones.”
All of their expectations were met during the visit both in terms of service and product availability, “we also wanted a glazed door for the back laundry room, a front door of a similar style to the existing one, slim French doors, along with casement windows for the upstairs rear – whatever our specification, a solution was available.”
“We were given information and allowed time to consider our options. We were never under any pressure, were always in control but received speedy, helpful advice with each question we had. A totally professional service!”
Unique Hidden Spring Mechanism
All the items chosen were colour matched to a Farrow & Ball shade, named “Ringwold Ground” with the front and back door manufactured in engineered Meranti hardwood whilst all other items were selected in engineered European redwood. The sash windows chosen use our unique hidden spring mechanism.
Mr & Mrs Marsden were pleased with the final aspects of the process too, “the installation matched the previous professional service. The team were hard working, had great social skills, were attentive to detail and worked very tidily; it was a pleasure to have them working in our home.”
Light, warmth and tranquility
Reflecting on the finished job, Mrs Marsden comments, “our reaction was ‘WOW!’ We had neighbours coming to tell us how wonderful the house looked and had become a feature for those passing through the village. Inside, rooms took on an amazing lightness and air of tranquillity that we just hadn’t anticipated, and the double glazing is really proving its worth through the winter as the house is clearly warmer.”
“This project was not the cheapest thing we have done in the house, but we think it was worth every penny and we love our home even more now, which is really saying something!”
