Finding the right door for their home
Mr & Mrs Wormald bought their period terraced house in mid 2016 knowing they had a project on their hands,
“no work had been undertaken in the house for many years; we stripped the house back to the brick and started again.”
“The door was in terrible condition, and let down what could be a beautiful frontage. Add to this, one of the many panes of glass in the door was broken accidentally when carting things into the house, so if we were ever in any doubt about replacing it, that made the decision for us.”
Discovering Timber Windows through advertising in their local newspaper, the homeowners went in search of their nearest showroom,
“we loved everything we saw; I knew I wanted a timber door and all we could find elsewhere was composite, which looked cheap and not in keeping with the house.”
With the many options available for door personalisation, the homeowners considered a number of designs,
“we couldn’t make up our minds between a few styles, and only changed to the one we have at the last moment.”
The Timber Windows Conservation Range Proves to be a Perfect Choice
Mr & Mrs Wormald selected a Westonbirt door finished in the shade of Warwick Stone with Etched Star glazing. This door style comes from our range of Conservation designs with bold, authentic panelling and mouldings.
The homeowners also opted for beautifully detailed, hand crafted ironmongery,
“we always knew we wanted Antique Brass door furniture, so the Samuel Heath range was perfect, and in our opinion, makes the door, giving it the finishing touch.”
Mrs Wormald summarises her satisfaction,
“we are delighted with the door…. absolutely love it! It has totally transformed the house, and provided the ‘wow-factor’ we were looking for. I’m a little precious about it at the moment and still prefer visitors to go around the back!”
