Suffolk
Entrance Door
Adding kerb appeal to a former pump house
This former, Edwardian pump house on the Suffolk Coast has been home to Mr & Mrs Baines for the past 10 years.
Having sat derelict for many years, after being decommissioned, the building was restored and converted to a residence 30 years ago.
“The old front door was much narrower with large, partial sidelights combined with brickwork” Mrs Baines explains.
Knowing the owners’ wish to have an industrial-style look, in keeping the with the building’s past, the showroom took this on board in the recommendations made.
Bespoke, double entrance door
The double Polstead design with sidelights and toplights, is a striking and yet totally suitable entranceway for the structure, finished in a colour complementary to Farrow & Ball ‘Studio Green’.
Mrs Baines reacts to the new door,
“I adore the fact it lets in so much more light, and it’s much easier to use now too.”
The new look hasn’t ended there, with plans to replace the existing clunky window frames with beautiful, towering sash windows.
“Overall, I am delighted to have been able to enhance my home, and give it the character it deserves!”
“The doors were tailored to the industrial past of the building”
“I adore the fact it lets in so much more light”
