Deco and Flush Casement Windows
Improved Weather Protection Respecting Period Features
In a South Yorkshire village, the beautiful Victorian home of Mr & Mrs Leabeater is nestled into the countryside overlooking rolling hills.
Mrs Leabeater explains how the location and weather conditions prompted the consideration for changes to their home,
“the rear of the house gets the weather, sweeping across the fields. This was the area where we planned to change the windows.”
It was important that the period features were retained when making replacements – White flush casements in Engineered Meranti Hardwood were chosen throughout, and where needed, certain windows have 27mm astragal bars. All have black period ironmongery.
“The windows are all an exact match for the style and proportion of those that they replaced”
Mr Leabeater describes.
“Originally we decided we’d just replace some, but once we’d experienced the product and the service, we went for it and did them all”
“The glass in the old windows, was so thin, we’re told it was thinner than greenhouse glass which definitely would have contributed to how chilly the rooms were”
Mrs Leabeater says.
Excellent, Personal Service from Start to Finish
“Bev and Chris, and all the team from the showroom in Sheffield were brilliant, paid great attention to detail and took a lot of care. A particular amount of care was given to preserving the original internal shutters, and the fitting team adapted their methods specially to suit.”
Apart from making the house warmer and offering more protection from the elements, another benefit has been gained
“the road to the front can get quite busy at peak periods, but since the new windows went in, the house is silent and we don’t hear anything from the outside”
explains Mrs Leabeater.
“We’ve been so pleased with the result.”
