Slim Sash Windows
Restoring a 19th century characterful home
Bought in 2019, the Essex home of Mr & Mrs Bloomfield had a very immediate to do list, for the family.
The late 19th Century house was being treated to new windows within the first three months of the new owners moving in,
“it was the first job on our list, they needed doing immediately…some of the original windows were painted shut making for stuffy rooms, while others were draughty”
the homeowners explain.
Bespoke, swept heAD timber sash windows
The slim sash windows have swept heads to fit the original openings, featuring krypton gas filled double glazing units for superior thermal and noise insulation.
“A feature that we love, is being able to lift the lower sashes and lower the curved, upper sashes too.”
“Living next to a main road, the noise we used to get was a concern and you could hear outdoors goings on, as though they were indoors.”
“The new windows are so much better – we barely hear anything from the road now and this is especially helpful when working from home.”
