Flush Casement Windows
Faithfully restoring a former station house
“We had never considered using anything other than timber”
The early 1900s home of the James family formerly served as a Station Masters’ house, built by British Rail.
Having lived in the house for 35 years, the James’s were aware of one main issue,
“we had long been concerned about the lack of double-glazing but loved the fact that they were the originals, so a priority was to replace like-for-like with all the differing shapes and styles.”
“We happened to walk past the Colchester showroom one day, and decided to investigate, but assumed the cost would be prohibitive. We were pleased to discover however that our budget for the replacements would cover what we wanted.”
Traditionally styled timber casement windows
A range of flush casement windows, in keeping with the original styles and specs, were installed, all finished in the shade of ‘Cream’.
“The other important factor in choosing Timber Windows, was the reception we received in the showroom – it was absolutely excellent – genuinely interested and helpful and put us under no pressure whatsoever. We liked the choices that we had available to us and the measuring/survey process was unbelievably thorough.”
“When it came to the actual fitting, the team were polite, friendly, interested in their job and very reassuring.”
“Two sets of local friends have been motivated to use Timber Windows too, following our experience”
“All the way through, everyone we dealt with was utterly professional and pleasant”
“We recognised that the products were of the highest quality”
